If your life is anything like mine, the holiday season is fast and furious this year. I’m constantly looking for small ways to unravel the tension in my body: lighting a candle in the mornings, living in my dressy-sweatsuit (with apologies to Sarah for my love of athleisure), and, of course, rolling out my yoga mat. I love a gentle, quiet stretch -- time that feels like you had a massage, not a workout.
In this short series, I tried to give you the kinds of tools that I reach for myself. Short meditations, gentle movements, quick ways into my body that help me tell my nervous system, “we’re ok! No lions are coming to eat us, I promise!” I also have found myself reaching for sleep stories often, especially when I’m away from home. So I gave you the most Pantsuit Politics sleep story I could think of: George Washington’s Farewell Address.
